What do you do with plastic, acrylic glass and LEDs?
RIGHT: build a DIY lamp!
With engraving pens and multi-function tools, we can easily create acrylic glass lamps.
The great thing about it is that you can ultimately personalize the lamp: you can attach motivational sayings, poems, motifs of all kinds and even photos to the light surface.
Notes:
As always, we have prepared a selection of motifs and templates for you. You can of course also bring your own templates. However, please make sure to note the following points:
1) Your template may have (at most!) the following dimensions:
- Round acrylic glass: 12.5cm wide and 11cm high
- Rectangular acrylic glass: 13cm wide and 15cm high
2) You must bring your template printed out AND (important!) it must be mirrored horizontally. For example: If you want a cat on the surface looking to the right, then the motif must be mirrored "horizontally by 180°" using a simple image editing program. The cat will then look to the left. This also applies to sayings and photos. If you have problems with this, you can also quickly write us an email and send us your motif and we will prepare it for you (send by Thursday, April 10th at the latest).
- This workshop is not suitable for people who are afraid of the dentist (beware of drilling noises! Quote: “Welcome to Nadine’s dental practice”) #Trigger warning
- Due to the noise, please bring ear protectors or earplugs for yourself as well as a face mask to protect against abrasion.
- One adult and one child work together on a lamp and are then allowed to take it home. The lamp set includes a remote control for effects and color changes as well as a USB cable. The lamp can also be operated via a mains plug, but you will need to buy a mains adapter with a USB interface. Alternatively, you can also use 3 AA batteries as a power supply.
